White sandverbena (Abronia mellifera) - To find sandverbena's delicate clusters of white, tube-shaped flowers, one must look down. While the plant's branches grow up to 2 feet in length, the plant stays low to the ground, with only the branch tips curving upward. The leaves of this perennial are pale green, spade-shaped, and fairly fleshy. White sandverbena grows from May to July, and can be found most often on dunes, or in other areas of sandy soil.
