Estuary Survival and Behavior of Yearling and Subyearling Chinook Salmon and Steelhead

The objective of this project was to estimate survival of yearling and subyearling Chinook salmon and steelhead from Bonneville Dam to the mouth of the Columbia River using acoustic telemetry. Fish were implanted with microacoustic transmitters at Bonneville Dam and autonomous receivers were deployed and recovered by boat in the lower Columbia River Estuary to detect test fish as they migrate into Pacific Ocean.
