Biography

Jim Becker is a senior research scientist and has worked with Battelle for the past 16 years, in which he has been involved in environmental activities based in Washington State, USA (14 years), and in Europe (Geneva, Switzerland) (2 years). He provides expertise for NEPA analyses and ESA assessments, biological monitoring of amphibians and ecological risk assessments. He works for the restoration of damaged habitats and habitat enhancement. He mentors student researchers who are interested in animal biology.

  • Environmental impact analysis, - assessing the impacts of human disturbance on biological systems for regulatory compliance
  • Ecological risk assessment
  • Amphibian ecology in regulated river environments
  • Avian and bat ecology and conservation
