Cladonia fimbriata

  • Morphology: Fruticose to squamulose. Often goblet or golf-tee shaped when fruticose. The thallus is crustose or squamulose from which the stem-like structures (podetia) are formed.
  • Color: Grayish-green to brownish-green.
  • Reproductive Structures: Apothecia, uncommon, are produced on the margins of the cups.
  • Habitat: Thin, dry, mineral soil.
  • General information: The thallus is frequently powdery, mealy or granular in appearance.
